#3 – Painting the Night Sky

when i remarked on how precise a full moon emerged on the 15th & last night of every Chinese Lunar New Year, a pal reminded me today that the lunar bit means the moon, and thus the moon-centric Chinese Lunar New Year Calendar.

last night was the 15th night for this Ox year, as the moon emerged in all its glory - 305,000km from Earth, compared to the average 350,000km. Despite being slightly dimmed from a penumbral eclipse (the moment where the moon is thrown into Earth's partial shadow), I had a brilliant sight of her from my home - pregnant, full and glowing in a rich hue of ivory.

Armed with my cam in slow shutter speed goodness, I did nothing else for the next 30 minutes but indulge innit and start drawing patterns in the sky with the moon...together with about 50% of the alphabet, which was all I could manage with out falling 3 storeys out the window!

check it out!
